Symbolism
Escutcheon: Sky Blue and White are symbolic colors for Sandya, being his identifying colors since childhood, hence the usage of the non-traditional Bleu-Celeste. The stripes symbolize the design of his persona; a porcupine's quills. The sun is symbolic of many things, including his Majapahit heritage, his obsession with space travel, and when viewed diagonally, the entire escutcheon resembles a stylized image of a sun setting on the horizon, becoming a cant on Sandya's name (which means "twilight" in Sanskrit).
Crest: The urchin-headed eagle is a reminder for Sandya of the importance of fandom and community bonds, and is a call-back to both his online username (Raptor) and his anthropomorphic persona (a porcupine). The arm wielding a keris dagger symbolizes his role and surname as a scholar-warrior, and his Javanese heritage.
Motto: The motto “Tiada Bintang Tanpa Gelap” is Indonesian for "No stars without darkness". It is a truncated version of a poem or mantra that Sandya made that has carried him through the darkest points of his life, as it means that, without the darkness that envelops life and existence, there would neither be the beauty of starlight shining through the darkness.
