Symbolism
The bend sinister between two scarps gemellesis loosely inspired by the arms of the armigers ancestor, who bore “azure, a fess between two bars gemelles Or”. The party per bend sinister indented of the sinister bend is used to represent an ascending flight of stairs, to indicate the armigers aspiration to always improve upon himself. It is also a subtle nod to his career as an aircraft engineer, representing ascent or altitude. The tinctures Vert and Argent (particularly the Vert) is the armigers favourite colour and are used to represent nature and foliage.
Crest:
The winged seal point Siamese cat, a nod to a family pet that the armiger grew up along side and wished to immortalise in some way. In his paw the cat maintains a wheel Vert. The wheel is a common symbol in heraldry relating to industriousness, engineering and technology, another nod to his career as an engineer.
Motto:
“to ask well, to answer rightly” is a loose translation of stanza 28 of the hávamál, a poem from the poetic edda which contains important lessons to live by.
