Symbolism[edit | edit source]
The green is for growth and renewal, the white for hope and goodness, and the black for resilience and resolve. The stripes as a whole are also symbolic of exploration and the future, moving up from Earth's green surface, through the atmosphere, and into the black of outer space. The seven stars are for the Pleiades, the armiger's favorite night-sky object, astrologically significant to their date of birth, and a cross-culturally common folkloric symbol that unites humanity as we look at the stars. In the crest, the raven is admired by the armiger for its intelligence and playfulness despite its common perception as an omen of death and doom. It is taking flight, representing progress, and the golden poppy it carries represents the piece of his homeland of California the armiger takes with them wherever they go.
