Symbolism

Red, as the armigers favourite colour, represents resilience. As they are disabled, they have faced many health challenges that required a lot of resilience to overcome. White represents spirituality. The armiger is a Christian, grew up Christian and have a strong faith in God. The sheep is simply representing their favourite animal. The rayonny is a nod to the armigers real name, Josiah, which holds the meaning, "fire of the Lord."
The crest, a lion maintaining a feather, represents their heritage, the lion for Dutch and English, while the feather is for their home nation, New Zealand. Lastly, the motto is Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". This is the armigers favourite verse and it holds personal meaning since, as they have mentioned before, they have been through many challenges because of their disability. But they firmly believe God has brought them through the difficult times to safer times.
