Symbolism
The armiger spent a long time to track down their genealogy to the closest lords titles in their family, direct line, but they could not find exactly the coats of arms of them only a few villages, towns and no longer existing places. But they had the names of each titles so it helped them a lot, also one is based on the town of Clamecy.
The cross and ferns come from the armigers very first lord ancestor, his title was "Seigneur de la Croix des Fougères". “Cross of Ferns” is just outside of Bourges, where Claude Vallée was born. Quite likely that Claude, as Seigneur de la Croix de Fougeres, inherited and maintained quite a bit of land in that region. So as their first lord in my lineage they added a Cross (croix) and ferns (des fougères) for him. As for the main part it is from a lord de la Tour de Clamecy, they believe that it was a branch of de Clamecy family established on Bourges side that maintained the title of La Tour de Clamecy. They picked up some elements from this town of Clamecy which is actually the same as the Duchy of Nivernais and Nassau coa. They added a tower (tour) for it.
