Symbolism

These are originally the arms of Filippo Cavalcanti, a banker from Florence who had the English Kingdom as one of his main customers. Due to that, King Henry XIII augmented his arms including the Per chevron Argent and chevron Azure with a lion rampant between two fleus-de-lis Or. In the late 1500s he migrated to Brazil due to conspiracies in his family and to invest in the sugarcane business.
