Symbolism

Red, black, and white represent the armiger's passion for justice and leftism. The heart represents their value of loving others, and is canting on their surname. The Carolina parakeet represents their love of birds, extinct life, and home state of North Carolina. The bird also represents "memento mori" mentality, as it is an extinct species. The tartan the armiger uses for mantling is the Carolina Tartan, a state symbol of North Carolina.
