Symbolism

The tinctures on the escutcheon are derived from the arms of the Austro-Hungarian Duchy of Bukovina, where my ancestors originated. Two chevrons sable come from the arms of Lord Kirkcudbright, commonly associated with my surname.
The wolf and laurel are a kind of cant on my name, one meaning "crown", "reward" or "circle" and the other ultimately deriving from "wolf".
The motto, "Ecce Video Caelos Apertos" is Latin for "Behold, I see the heavens opened" and comes from Acts 7:56, spoken by St. Stephen before his martyrdom.
